How to check IP reputation
1. Check major blocklists
Start by checking whether the IP address appears on relevant public and commercial blocklists.
Tools such as the Spamhaus IP and Domain Reputation Checker and AbuseIPDB can help identify current listings and previous abuse reports.
Do not look only at whether the IP is listed. Check:
• Why it was reported
• How recently the report appeared
• Whether the issue has been resolved

An old email-related listing, for example, may be critical for mail infrastructure but less important for another type of service.
2. Look at the IP’s history
A clean result today does not always tell the full story.
